For organizers
Starting a fundraiser
Who can start a GoodBuy fundraiser?
GoodBuy is built for schools, sports teams, clubs, churches, and community groups. An organizer creates an account, adds the organization’s information, and sets up the fundraiser.
Does it cost anything to get started?
No. There is no upfront payment required to create an account or begin setting up a fundraiser.
Does our group have to buy inventory?
No. Your group does not purchase, store, or manage product inventory. Supporters choose packages through the online fundraiser.
What information do I need to create a fundraiser?
You can add a fundraiser name, description, goal, category, start and end dates, and an optional picture. You can save it as a draft while you prepare and make it active when it is ready to share.
Can our organization run more than one fundraiser?
Yes. Organizers can create and manage multiple fundraisers from the dashboard, with separate goals, dates, participant lists, and public links.
Practical value
Products and purchases
What products do supporters receive?
GoodBuy packages contain common tech essentials such as charging cables, wall chargers, and portable power—useful items people need now and continue to need over time.
How much do the packages cost?
Supporters can choose a $30, $50, or $100 package, giving them clear, affordable ways to support a group.
How much does the group receive from a purchase?
The fundraising group receives 50% of every product purchase: $15 from a $30 package, $25 from a $50 package, and $50 from a $100 package.
Do supporters have to choose a product?
No. Every active fundraiser also offers a direct-donation option for supporters who would rather give without purchasing a package.
For supporters
Supporting a fundraiser
How do I find a fundraiser?
Open the Fundraisers page and search by keywords, organization, location, group type, or category. You can also use a direct link shared by the organization or a participant.
Can I support a specific participant?
Yes. Participants can have their own share links. Purchases made through a participant’s page count toward both the participant’s progress and the group fundraiser.
Can I donate without buying anything?
Yes. Choose Donate directly on the fundraiser page and enter the amount you want to give.
How much of a direct donation does the organization receive?
The organization receives 93% of a direct donation. Direct donations are separate from product purchases, which return 50% to the group.
How do I know my support is going to the right group?
Use the organization’s fundraiser link, a participant’s personal link, or select the group from the public fundraiser directory. The fundraiser page identifies the organization and shows its goal and progress.
During the fundraiser
Managing and sharing
How do we add participants?
Organizers can add participants one at a time, paste a list, or import a CSV file. Each participant can have a personal goal and public share link.
What can organizers track?
The organizer dashboard shows orders, sales, funds raised, goal progress, supporter activity, and participant progress for each fundraiser.
Can we edit a fundraiser after creating it?
Yes. Organizers can update the name, category, description, picture, goal, dates, and status from the fundraiser dashboard.
How should we share the fundraiser?
Share the main fundraiser link with your whole community and participant links with each participant’s family and friends. Supporters can also find active campaigns through the fundraiser directory.
What happens when a fundraiser is finished?
An organizer can change its status when it is no longer active. Past activity remains associated with that fundraiser for tracking and account records.
